๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Problem

By default, SiteMark only allows square (box) selections, which can be limiting when trying to select components that arenโ€™t perfectly aligned within a square area.

โœ… Solution: Use Shift-Drag and Multi-Select

Follow these steps to make more precise selections:

1. Enable Freeform Selection View

  • Hold down Shift on your keyboard.

  • Click and drag the map to rotate it to a more convenient orientation.

    • This lets you better align the map view with the components you want to select.

2. Use Multi-Select to Pick Specific Components

  • Once the map is rotated:

    • Hold down Option (on Mac) or Alt (on Windows).

    • Click and drag to select multiple components in the newly aligned view.

3. Confirm Your Selection

  • All intended components should now be perfectly selected, even if they don't align neatly within a square.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

  • Use this method when components are placed diagonally or irregularly on the map.

  • Rotating the view can help eliminate the frustration of missing key items during selection.
