Introduction
An operation is considered as an order for processing, it is how Sitemark coordinates their inspections carrying out data acquisition (if required) and processing based on the specifications of that operation.
An operation can have a number of different deliverables depending on the data product that you choose, you can find more details on that below.
Pre-requisites for creating an operation
Before you can create an operation, you need to have a site. Please follow this guide on how to create a new site
Have an active subscription with credits on your account, if this is not the case please reach out to your account manager or support@sitemark.com to help with this.

Step by Step guide
On the sites landing page of the platform, select the site on which you want to create a new operation. Click on the "New Operation" button at the top:
Select a Data Product
Data product are specific bundles that tailor the platform to your use case. You can find more information on the available data products here. The different data product options are shown in the screenshot below.
Defining area of interest
The platform will assume that you want to use the boundaries of the site by default, however these can be adjusted using the tools below to ensure that the operation boundaries are what you want to be inspected.
Boundary editing tools
Allows you to draw additional or new boundaries on the map
Allows you to select an existing boundary to then edit them
Using this button you can upload an existing KML to the platform
When you’re ready, click next to proceed to the next window.
Layers
If you have uploaded any overlays or created regions you can also use these layers in order to help you create the operation boundaries accurately.
Data Acquisition method
Here you will have to choose whether you would like to use one of the pilots within Sitemark’s network or you would like to fly the operation yourself.
If you leave this check box empty you are indication that you have or will fly this inspection by yourself and upload the data directly to the platform.
If you would like to fly with a Sitemark pilot you will need to indicate the date range you would like the inspection to take place. We will then reach out to you to begin coordinating the inspection with you.
Confirming the operation
Once you have completed these steps you will then be at the final stage, if you are happy that all of the information that you have entered is correct you will have two options.
If you have purchased data product credits and they have been assigned to your platform you will have the ability to create the operation as show below. Once you click create the operation status will change to Ordered.
If you do not have the data product credits, then you will only be able to save the operation as a draft. You can then reach out to your account manager to purchase additional credits to move forward.
Tips
If your operation is stuck in draft, please check the following:
Does the data product you selected for the operation align with the credits you purchased? For example, if you bought 20 credits for Thermography, did you attempt to order a Thermography Pro operation?
What Data Acquisition method did you choose? Are you going to fly the operation yourself but accidentally chose the option for Sitemark to fly when creating the operation?
If you have checked both of these options and are still not able to order your operation, please reach out to support@sitemark.com and we will be happy to help.
