Component Tracking and Completion - Solar Construction Monitoring

Here's where and how components are tracked automatically in Sitemark's Solar Construction Monitoring tool

Updated over a week ago

Overview

Solar Construction Monitoring (SCM) tracks specific Solar components to ensure consistent progress monitoring across all projects. Each component category has a defined level of importance and clear rules for when it is considered “completed” within the platform.

Components Tracked in SCM

Below you'll find the list of required components that are able to be automatically detected during the drone flight and are automatically displayed as completed once progress is detected from the captured drone data.

✔️ Must-Have Components

These are essential for a site to be considered fully set up.

  • Piles

  • Structures

  • Modules

  • Fences

✔️ Recommended Components

Able to be tracked automatically, but not mandatory. A site can still be considered complete without them (if all Must-Haves are present).

  • Combiner box

  • Inverter

Trenches

  • Trenches are able to be detected automatically if the drone flights are frequent enough to track when a trench is opened, and then closed. If the drone flies outside of those dates, Sitemark will not be able to track the completion of the trench automatically; however, you can still track manually. See the example below for manual tracking

More Components Available in Sitemark that are tracked manually from drone data:

Electrical and custom components are not detected by drone data, and must be tracked manually from the drone data using specific fields on your project.

See our article here about Custom Components to successfully set up your own in your current project.

Take a look at the video below that shows a quick tutorial of how you can track components manually in Sitemark

What the “Completed” Status Means in an SCM Project

A component is detected as completed when:

  1. The component is part of the automatically detected group, and

  2. During processing, the component is successfully detected, validated, and included in the site’s setup.

This ensures consistency across all projects and provides users with a clear overview of construction progress.
