📍Tracking Components by Region in Sitemark

Easily monitor construction progress per region using Sitemark’s geo-referenced component tracking.

Updated this week

🔍 What Are Regions?

Regions are custom-defined areas on your site map used to organize and track components geographically. You can create and manage regions in the Info tab by clicking Manage Regions.

🛠️ For details on creating regions, check the dedicated article: Create and manage regions.

📊 How Region-Based Tracking Works

Both regions and components in Sitemark are geo-referenced. This means components located within a defined region can be automatically tracked and reported per region.

🧭 Steps to Track Components per Region

1. Go to Your Project Schedule

  • Navigate to the Schedule tab of your site.

  • Locate or create the relevant construction activity (e.g., piling).

2. If your schedule includes regions: Split Activity by Region

  • Click the three dots on the activity line.

  • Select Split by region.

  • Choose the desired region type (e.g., Zones, Inverters).

  • Click Split per region.

Sitemark will now split the activity into separate lines for each region and automatically allocate them based on location.

2. If your schedule doesn't include regions: See next step

🛠️ Manual Region Setup (if needed)

If region lines aren’t automatically set:

  1. Click on a split line (e.g., Region 1 – Piles).

  2. Confirm or adjust the Component Type (e.g., Piles).

  3. Under Component Region Filter, select the appropriate region (e.g., Zone 1 or Zone 2).

Repeat for each split line to ensure the correct region is assigned.

📈 Viewing Progress by Region

  • Go to your Dashboards tab.

  • The default dashboard shows construction progress by region, based on the top-listed region type in the Manage Regions tab.

🧭 To track different region types (e.g., Inverters), you can create a custom dashboard (covered in a separate video).
